I’m Stefanie, thank you for visiting my website. I hope you enjoy my art as much as I enjoyed creating it!

I’m a London born, Sydney based, self-taught mixed media artist who has been honing my creativity since childhood, forever lost in any expressive outlet I could find.

Art has always been a release for me, a way for my overactive mind to find peace. When an idea comes to mind, initially I feel fired up, yet it shifts into focussed relaxation as I begin to work on the execution of the concept. My mind finally stills. 

It’s a cliche to say art is therapy but maybe for good reason; once I’ve made a piece, I no longer ruminate on whatever was swirling around my head previously. It’s dealt with and I can move on.

I’m an observer of myself, people and the world around me.. these considerations inspire my creativity which I hope is evident in my work.

After several years working as a professional photographer, I began looking for ways to better illustrate some of the incredible imagery that I had visualised after experimenting with some friends from the forest… I threw myself into photoshop and quickly became sufficient, so much so that I began blending my photographic skills with digital art to produce vibrant, storytelling images. I hope you enjoy these pieces and can find your own story woven into them.

Ever the seeker of new creative outlets, I was excited to be introduced to the idea of NFT’s in October 2021 and minted my first in January 2022.

NFT’s can include animation and feature audio which allowed my creative mind to run wild with ideas. I spent countless hours learning new programs necessary to translate the ideas I had into something tangible for the world to see and, thanks to NFT, experience.

My NFT art encapsulates photography, digital art, animation, an old love in writing, a new love in reciting and now music!

It’s funny how you can meet someone who is the right person at the right time and on this occasion, it was David Skeet, a well established music producer. David’s ear for sonics and my desire to write potent poetry and perform has been an exciting collaboration and another new chapter to my creative journey.

My Dad was a huge music fan, his music provided the soundtrack to my childhood. I was fortunate to be exposed to his exceptional and eclectic taste every day and I’m grateful to have inherited his passion for it; you can see my portrait of David Bowie here. 

Music has the ability to make us feel every emotion and liberate them, in the same way visual art also does for me, and many others no doubt. 

Glitch’ was the first music/art NFT created with David and it was a big success, (we sold 35 primary editions). We also released across streaming apps including Spotify under artist name Stefanie Neal.

Glitch is the first of a four-part collection which portrays my assessment of the technology driven world we live in and the implications it has on us.

Through my style; a playful yet hopefully powerful perspective on social commentary, I hope to offer a fresh angle in the way we enjoy art.
